Team LoCare consist of four vibrant and talented female developers: Ijah Brown, Shaneil Bryan, Shaniece Greene and Brittane Reid. All four ladies are final year computer science majors who wish to make a mark in the world of computing. They enjoy adventurous activities and hanging out with friends. Ijah, Shaniece and Brittane hail from St. Andrew High School for Girls while Shaneil attended Wolmers Girls School.

LoCare is a web based application, designed to allow users in dire emergency, to click a red button and answer a few questions, after which, will diagnose the user. 

LoCare was developed because in Jamaica, finding the closest hospitals at a short notice, is a task many persons are often faced with. In cases of emergencies, persons frequently switch to panic mode trying to find the closest medical facility and ends up finding themselves stuck in traffic or even taking the longer route to get the medical facility. 

In Jamaica, these cases prove to be frustrating and can result in fatalities especially in the case of an emergency. Currently in Jamaica, there are no systems in place to diagnose a patient, suggest home remedies and find the closest medical facility in relations to one’s current location and preference which are problems that need urgent attention.
